Victoree Lingle VVW Y45

(owned by Victoree)

  • Absolute best genetics Victoree could create

  • Bloodlines not available elsewhere

  • Sire: Thologolong Goodwill, a frame 5 bull purchased for just $500 at the 1977 Australian National Angus Show after being passed in at auction. Despite being unpopular at the time for his size, Goodwill proved to be an exceptional sire, later selling for $12,000.

Performance Highlights:

  • Won Junior and Grand Champion Bull at the 1981 Royal Melbourne Show as a yearling

  • Exceptional feed conversion: 4.9 kg feed to 1 kg body weight

  • Weaned at 73% of dam's weight at 9 months (no supplementary feed)

  • Combined impressive soundness, balanced muscle, and eye appeal

Legacy:

  • Sold for $22,500 (semen shares + walking rights)

  • Progeny consistently performed well, including a Grand Champion at Queensland heifer shows

  • Represents rare 30-year-old pure Australian genetics with documented performance data

Current Availability:

20 straws remain total—10 available for tender at $10,000 per 2-straw pack (with breeding approval required), 10 retained for Victoree's own use. These genetics offer a credible outcross opportunity not available elsewhere.

Rennylea NOR E35

(owned by Our Farm Angus)

  • Walloping muscle power

  • Excellent mature cow weight to carcase value and yield

  • Terrific heifer bull

  • Behind this great bull, an outstanding dam

The Bull: A compact, heavily-muscled bull owned by Our Farm Angus that delivers exceptional carcass yield and efficiency in a moderate frame. Described as a "basketball muscle bull"—6 inches shorter, lower, and wider than typical large-framed bulls struggling on grass.

Physical Specifications:

  • 1150+ kg in paddock condition

  • Compact, wide, deep-bodied phenotype

  • Stands alone in his performance data category

Key Breeding Advantages:

  • Efficiency: Produces high carcass output from a smaller mature cow weight base "very hard to find"

  • Practicality: Maintains condition on grass without supplementation

  • Value proposition: Following Martin Jorgenson's principle, "an extra inch of height is 50 cents, an extra inch of width is $50"

  • Muscle power: Exceptional EMA (eye muscle area), potentially "too big for the plate" but excellent for herds lacking muscle

The Dam:

One of the five best carcass cows in the program, currently in ET (embryo transfer) program, demonstrating her exceptional genetic value.

Breeding Applications:

  • Excellent heifer bull: Safe, easy calving

  • Cow bull: Suitable for the entire herd

  • Currently being paddock mated to Our Farm Angus's own cows

  • Ideal for reducing cow size while maintaining or improving carcass quality and yield

Industry Impact:

Represents the phenotype the Angus breed needs more of—compact efficiency with meat production power. A bull that would have earned approval from industry legend Charlie Bott. Addresses the modern challenge of maintaining grass-fed performance without creating oversized, inefficient cows.

Booroomooka Theo NGM T30

(owned by Agrigene)

The Bull: A proven all-round performer owned by Agrigene, described as "a once in 20 year bull" and the best all-round sire used by Victoree in the last 15 years. Combines calving ease, temperament, carcass quality, and exceptional stayability.

The Discovery Story:

In the mid-1990s, after testing approximately 20 imported bulls with inconsistent Australian performance, Bodhi Williams shifted focus to Australian genetics. BREEDPLAN sorts consistently highlighted Theo, prompting a 1,500km trip with John Sambell (Ballangeich) to Booroomooka. Recognition was immediate upon seeing him.

The "Mossy Coat" Indicator: Theo exhibits the rare "brown mossy coat" prized by old Scottish Angus master breeders, traditionally associated with:

  • Higher fertility

  • Easy-doing efficiency

  • Superior stayability and mothering ability

  • Better environmental adaptability

  • Finely striated muscle in the carcass (according to Murray Sutherland, whose family dominated carcass competitions in the 1950s-60s)

Proven Performance:

  • Mt Linton herd, New Zealand: Outstanding maternal and carcass results

    • 97% weaning rate

    • 6-week mating period

    • Only 4 assisted calvings out of 440 heifers

    • Exceptional grass-fed performance in one of the most efficient operations

Daughters: The most fertile, reliable, and friendly cows possible—combining productivity with temperament.

Semen Availability:

  • Originally collected nearly 13,000 straws

  • 5,000 straws sold to Agrigene (McIlroy family) for $50,000—the largest single semen package Victoree has ever sold

  • Very little semen remaining

Breeding Application: A "fix it" bull for herds experiencing:

  • Large, box-shaped cows

  • Wiry hair coats

  • Lower fertility on limited grass

  • Need for maternal improvement while maintaining carcass quality

Recommendation: "Put 50 straws in your tin just for insurance to keep your herd on top of the performance Angus list down the road."

  • Proven one of Australians best all round performers

  • Would compliment part of every herds breeding program

  • Calving ease, calmness, quality carcase, stayability

  • Outstanding longevity

Merric Rivers NXJ T149

(owned by Victoree)

  • Fabulous carcase quality bullocks

  • Easy doing high longevity daughters

  • Terrific heifer bull

  • Good for taking the "elephants" out of your herd

The Bull: Owned by Victoree, T149 was selected as the follow-up sire to Booroomooka Theo. A half brother/half sister 315 mating that has been widely used across Australia and New Zealand, producing outstanding stayability cows and high-quality bulls.

Daughters:

  • Moderate-framed, feminine, and fertile

  • Wean sappy calves

  • Maintain fertility even in tough seasons

  • High stayability and longevity

  • Two daughters produced 18-month-old heifers with marble scores 4 and 5 in Steak of Origin competitions

Sons:

  • Multiple sons sold for over $10,000 at stud sales

  • One son at Mt Linton consistently breeds highly marbled cattle in that elite herd

Grass-Fed Marbling Performance: The 2006 Drought Test: During the severe 2006 drought (no rain, no springs, no water), 8 April-born male calves by T149 and one of his sons were castrated and sent to a friend's farm in the King Valley. After 2.5 years entirely on grass, they were processed at Ralphs at Seymour.

Results: Marble scores ranged from 4 to 8 on grass alone—exceptional performance without grain feeding.

All meat photos on the Victoree website showcase these grass-fed T149 steers.

Breeding Applications:

  • Excellent heifer bull: Easy calving

  • Herd correction: Takes the "elephants" out of herds (reduces cow size)

  • Fertility: Outstanding reproductive performance—"the number one driver of profit in the cattle business"

  • Future market positioning: Ideal base bull for producing healthy, natural, grass-fed, highly marbled beef without 200-400 days on grain

Market Vision: Positioned as a cornerstone sire for meeting emerging demand from Chinese and Indian markets seeking premium grass-fed, highly marbled beef produced without grain supplementation.

Bottom Line: "This bull can really produce bullocks off grass."

  • Soundness, stature and real style

  • Rare combination, beefiness, marbling and cow power unequalled
